Disadvantages of conventional anise oil

Many hunters have long used conventional anise oil as an attractant for a variety of game species. Conventional anise oil, which is a mixture of different components, has a number of disadvantages:

• Anise oil is very sensitive to atmospheric oxygen, which means that the attraction effect and storage stability suffer.
• The high volatility of anise oil limits its duration of action.
• Anise oil solidifies at temperatures below 18° C, which means that conventional anise oil must first be warmed up before it can be applied, especially in autumn and winter - not exactly user-friendly.
• The biggest disadvantage for the hunter is the health risk posed by anise oil: Anise oil contains a secondary component with allergy-causing and potentially cancer-causing effects. This means that conventional anise oil has to be labeled accordingly* and is subject to special safety measures when handling it.
