Together with the Americans in Wartime Museum in Virginia, we have managed to preserve an important piece of lost history. That Böker Sherman Damascus features a unique Damascus blade forged from various materials from the production of M4 Sherman tanks previously restored by the museum. The unique 80-layer damask is hand-forged by Chad Nichols in the Customized Ladder pattern and is reminiscent of the tank marks left in the ground by the M4 Sherman's heavy tracks. The ball-bearing blade is opened with a thumb pin and locked by a sturdy steel frame lock; a Hinderer lock-stop acts as over-expansion protection for the lock.
The overall shape of the knife pays homage to the aesthetic lines of the tank, while the decorative blade axle screw is modeled after the signature main drive sprocket. The slightly contoured handle made of Jute Micarta is comfortable to hold and has a color reminiscent of the camouflage paint used by both the US Army and the Marine Corps. With lanyard eyelet and practical deep carry clip (tip-up/r). Handmade in the Böker Knife manufacturer Solingen. Delivered with an elegant floating display, certificate of authenticity and individual serial number.
The extraordinary Böker A piece of living history, M4 Sherman damask combines quality craftsmanship with historic materials. The American M4 Sherman was designed back in 1940 and is still considered one of the most famous tanks in history. It was produced between 1942 and 1945, entered service until 1957 and was used in all theaters of World War II - not only by the United States and Canada, but also by Great Britain, the Free French Forces, China and even the Soviet Union.
Originally designed to replace the M3 Grant/Lee medium tank, the Sherman tank's primary role was to support infantry, lead attacks, and reinforce defensive positions. The Sherman was built almost 50,000 times and is the most frequently used tank by the Allies in World War II. It was manufactured in countless application-specific variations and was used well into the Cold War.
