    The three-part shooting stick made of sweet chestnut is an absolute rarity. The special feature is that each stick is "naturally grown" and therefore unique. Due to the elaborate processing, its surface is velvety soft and pleasant to handle. The 3 sticks are connected by a leather loop and can be fixed with a rubber band. After unfolding, the shooting stick is very stable and offers a secure support. The ends are equipped with combi spikes. The stick has a height of approx. 168 cm.

    material

    The wood of the sweet chestnut comes from the plantations in southern England that were created especially for guest rock. It is approx. 2-3 years old "stick rash" (stick rash is the name given to shoots on trees and shrubs that sprout again from the stump or stumps after the loss of the primary shoot axis. Most shrubs have the ability to regenerate, but also some deciduous tree species and a few coniferous tree species).

    processing

    The sticks are felled in the low-growth period from November to January and then have to be stored for about 1-1.5 years - the bark has to dry out of course. Ready for processing, the sticks are then placed in a steam oven and straightened after briefly steaming. Then dried and straightened again. The small twigs are sanded by hand and then the bark is hand-polished. A hard wax is applied to "seal" the surface. Then 3 sticks are connected with a leather strap and a tip with a removable rubber buffer (Combi-Spike) is attached to the ends of the sticks.
