Information about the author Alexander Losert
Alexander Losert became interested in the Second World War at an early age.
After graduating from high school, he joined the German Armed Forces. Following his military service in the Air Force, he pursued an academic career at Justus Liebig University in Giessen from 2004 to 2009. His subjects were political science, sociology, and modern history. He ultimately earned a Master's degree with a thesis on "Theory of Totalitarianism."
Losert's path then led him to the Bauer Media Group as a trainee, where he learned the craft of journalism. He subsequently worked for a military magazine specializing in recent German history. Here, he was able to fully utilize his knowledge and further develop his skills. After the magazine was sold, Alexander Losert took on the role of editor-in-chief and product manager, remaining in that position until the magazine's relaunch. Then, it was time for a change.
Having grown up in a family of hunters and marksmen, this subject was always omnipresent. Besides the Second World War itself, the aspect of technology, and especially weapons technology, was an important subtopic in his study of this period. For the next few years, Alexander Losert worked for a renowned firearms magazine, where he could contribute his historical and professional knowledge.
He currently works for a well-known arms dealer in Bavaria, writes books and specialist articles on the side, and otherwise devotes himself to another great passion: hunting.
