In many countries around the world, the silencer has been part of everyday hunting for years and, with its noise reduction, but also recoil and muzzle flash reduction, has become indispensable in countless hunting grounds.
Since Norway is one of these countries, Mauser deliberately entered into a cooperation with the manufacturer A-TEC, which is based there and has many years of experience, and jointly developed the Mauser silencer.
The result is a high-performance aluminum silencer that can even be used with powerful Magnum calibers and clearly exceeds the minimum noise reduction of 20 dB required by law. Each silencer has the proven Mauser Muzzle-Safe system at the bullet exit opening, which protects the silencer and barrel of the rifle from contamination.
The Mauser by A-Tec silencer is designed for calibers up to .30 & 8 mm. The muzzle-safe system protects the barrel and damper in every situation. The silencer achieves an excellent damping performance of -30 dB and, depending on the caliber and load, a recoil reduction of up to 50%. The muzzle flash is also greatly reduced, making it perfect for twilight and night hunting.
Two versions are available:
- Thread M15x1 with normal contour
or - Thread M17x1 with Solid / JM contour
Notes on silencers: Existing hunting law bans or restrictions on the use of silencers in the respective federal states must be observed. In terms of target ballistics, the use of silencers when using normal hunting ammunition has no effect - the effect of the bullet remains the same. The perception of the environment is also not affected. Silencers reduce recoil as well as noise at the source. This protects the environment (e.g. hunting dogs) from noise damage. They reduce the muzzle flash almost completely, so that in poor light, the markings and direction of flight of the game can be better perceived. Before pulling the weapon through, the silencer should always be removed in order to avoid damage to the screens. Penetrating oils are recommended for cleaning and preserving silencers. High-temperature-resistant greases have proven themselves for maintaining the threads.
