The Helix Speedster has SoftTouch inlays in signal colors and a durable plastic shaft. The latter is equipped with a butt plate that can be removed without tools, while the height of the comb can also be conveniently and easily adjusted at the push of a button. A quick-release sling swivel and a cleaning cord in the pistol grip round off the overall package.

The repeating rifle has a short, illumination semi-weight barrel with muzzle thread (M15x1) and a removable sight. The bolt-barrel system ensures quick barrel changes, the round bolt handle ball ensures a secure grip when repeating, and the Picatinny rail makes it easy to mount optional accessories. The Helix of Merkel has set standards in terms of ergonomics and intuitive handling as a linear repeater with a translated shutter. Now the Suhl hunting rifle specialist is following up with a stock development that is tailor-made for the Helix system.

The new SpeedStock is a plastic (perforated stock) construction that breaks new ground for a hunting rifle. With the OmegaGrip, which is open at the top, this shaft concept combines two classic shaft principles into an ergonomic and fast new development. The OmegaGrip guides your hand and thumb when repeating - like on rails.

RELAXED SHOOTING POSITION
Like the perforated stock, the new SpeedStock allows relaxed shooting with a steep pistol grip and the trigger finger parallel to the barrel axis - both ensure a reproducible, relaxed attack and an optimal precision shot. The good ergonomics of classic hole stock designs for single shots only reveal their weaknesses when reloading: When repeating quickly, threading the thumb in and out of the stock hole is a hindrance. The SpeedStock eliminates this problem.

The thumb slides as if on rails along the ergonomic shape of the stock into the OmegaGrip in the firing position - and out again when repeating. The cocking slider can also be operated easily with the thumb using the open SpeedStock without having to twist the grip - another safety and ergonomic advantage of the new shaft.

HOLE STOCK WITH HEIGHT-ADJUSTABLE CHECKER
The automatically height-adjustable MemoryCheek piece, which ensures a reproducible stop on the cheek. A spring storage element with a memory function moves the back of the shaft smoothly and silently to the preset height at the push of a button.

GREAT AND INDIVIDUALLY ADJUSTABLE
The shaft is made from a high-tech plastic in a two-component process. Non-slip, rubberized areas are incorporated into the pistol grip, forend and back of the stock. The surface of the SpeedStock is grained for better grip. In addition, the shaft length can be easily and tool-free adjusted to suit the hunter and his clothing.

The stock is screwed to the system from below via an eccentric-controlled body connector through the pistol grip. This elegant solution ensures that the gripping area is free of screw holes, which sometimes disrupts handling with conventional hole shafts. The push-button sling brackets used here are also practical: the securely locked rifle sling can be easily loosened at the shooting range, for example, and reattached just as easily later.

The stock geometry with a straight back of the stock at the level of the barrel axis transmits the recoil forces linearly to the shoulder; This reduces muzzle jump. The rigidity of the plastic construction, combined with a microcellular damper in the butt plate, absorbs defined recoil forces and makes shooting easier, even with powerful calibers.

SHOOTER SAFETY
Security is the good feeling of being able to hunt without any worries - because the rifle itself offers the best conditions for security. The helix lock is a further development of the classic rotating head lock - no other principle locks repeating rifles more securely. At the Merkel RX Helix combines the rotating head bolt with the helix principle to create a linear repeater. The closure is encapsulated at the back for additional security and to prevent contamination.

UNINTENDED SHOT FIRING
The hand tensioner of the RX Helix is located on the piston neck. He only puts the system under tension with the pressure of his thumb immediately before the shot - and it can be relaxed again just as easily.

SAFE FUNCTION

TRANSLATED STRAIGHT
The linear movement of the bolt handle is transmitted to the bolt head in a ratio of 1:2. It moves smoothly and quietly into the lock in a special helix track system - and out again. The repeating path is translated: fastest repeating guaranteed. This benefits faster target acquisition and thus precise follow-up shots.

STAY ON TARGET
When repeating, the bolt does not move beyond the neck of the stock towards the shooter's eye, which disrupts aiming in conventional systems. With the helix system, the movement only takes place within the system housing. The eye remains undisturbed on the target.
