The Taurus G3C builds on the proven foundation that has made the compact G-Series one of the most popular personal defense handguns while taking function, reliability and durability to the next level.
It brings all the convincing properties of its big sister, the Taurus G3, to an even more compact size and still creates the balance of power and performance for every situation.
In the design, Taurus engineers were guided by two main goals: retaining and refining the key characteristics that have made the Taurus G2C so popular with target shooters and practitioners. And at the same time integrating new features that improve overall performance, durability and customization potential.
The G3C upgrades start with the sled. The standard rear through-loading grooves are now complemented by front ones to provide a better grip in every situation. This makes the carriage easier to handle, regardless of the type of operation or hand size. The visual charge level indicator replaces the G2C's mechanical indicator, reducing parts and streamlining the carriage profile.
To ensure longer wear resistance and better protection against corrosion from environmental influences, the G3C slide is provided with the proven Tenifer coating. The Tenifer coating provides a more robust surface to minimize abrasion and maximize corrosion resistance. In addition to the improved slide surface, all controls have a black Teflon coating. The dual benefit of a Teflon coating is not only corrosion and rust resistance, but also a reduced coefficient of friction for long-lasting, reliable service.
The G3C is equipped as standard with an all-steel rear sight and front sight (instead of the plastic rear sight of the G2C), which is designed for tough everyday use. The rear sight is serrated to reduce glare and capture the sight image faster, while windage adjustment allows the shooter to fine-tune point of impact. The G3C rear sight is cut to dimensions compatible with most aftermarket sights on the market.
A new trigger system was introduced with the 2019 version of the Taurus G3. The Gen 3's improved trigger is engineered for precision-enhancing performance that rivals triggers found in high-end striker-fired pistols. The trigger breaks crystal clear. The redesigned flat trigger face concentrates finger pressure on the front of the shoe for a straighter trigger pull, while a shorter trigger reset allows for quicker second shots, reduces sight misalignment and minimizes the tendency to tear.
The ergonomic grip profile with the comfortable camber, heavily textured grip scales, memory pads for precise, repeatable finger/hand positioning, and the molded, extended baseplate offers a glove-like fit on most shooters' hands to promote accuracy and gun control. The G3C comes standard with three 12-round magazines.
