Originally developed as a self-defense weapon, the Taurus 605 in .357 Magnum caliber standards in design and performance and reliability. It features a single/double action trigger, fixed sights and a transfer bar for additional safety.
This safety device is regularly found in revolvers with a firing pin integrated into the frame. To put it simply, the hammer cannot reach the firing pin unless the transfer bar is "pushed" together to transfer the hammer's impact to the firing pin. The transfer bar only slides between the hammer and firing pin when the trigger is fully pulled.
