What does rotationally molded mean?
Rotational molding (also referred to as rotational molding) is a high-temperature, low-pressure plastic molding process that utilizes heat and biaxial rotations (i.e., rotation on two axes) to create hollow, one-piece parts. The YETI Cool box mold is loaded with polyethylene in powder form. The mold is then placed in a large oven while rotating on two axes at different speeds, preventing powder from accumulating in one place. The polyethylene melts and adheres evenly to the mold wall. Once the polyethylene has melted, the molds are pulled out of the oven to cool. And once it has cooled, the cooler is removed from the mold. It's like a giant, spinning Easy-Bake oven that makes coolers instead of cakes.
The process has its own design strengths, such as: B. a constant wall thickness and strong outer corners that are practically stress-free. Rotational molding gives the cooler a one-piece construction and unmatched durability.

10 tips to maximize the performance of YETI® cool boxes
YETI® cool boxes are very robust and durable, but longevity is just one of the advantages of a YETI. Outstanding thermal properties make the YETI into something very special. YETI Coolers are some of the best insulated coolers available today (up to 2 inches or more of polyurethane insulation in the walls and lids on most sizes). This insulation, combined with a freezer-like seal and durable one-piece construction, makes YETI the industry leader when it comes to keeping ice cream frozen for longer. Use the following information to improve the performance of the YETI® cooler box to maximize.
- Pre-cool the cool box
When stored in warm locations, a significant amount of ice is wasted trying to cool the cooler itself. Load the cooler with some ice a few hours before using it to cool it down. - Use twice as much ice as contents
It is important to use enough ice in the cooler. YETI recommends maintaining a ratio of 2:1 between ice and contents. This means that a third of the cooler is intended for cold drinks and food, while the other two thirds should be filled with ice in case the cooler is completely full. The more ice you use, the longer it stays frozen. - Ice temperatures are important
Warm ice (around 0°C) is typically wet or dripping and does not last long. Ice that is colder than freezing is relatively dry and lasts much longer. - Ice blocks versus ice cubes
Smaller, cube-shaped ice cools a cooler and its contents more quickly, but blocks of ice melt much more slowly. Most professionals use a mixture of both to cool the contents and ensure that the ice cream stays frozen for a long time. - The air is the problem
Large amounts of air in your cooler accelerate the melting of the ice, which consumes the ice while cooling the air. These air spaces are best filled with additional ice, towels, or crumpled newspapers if additional weight is not desired. - Do not empty the water
DO NOT empty the cold water once the cooler is in use. The water helps insulate the remaining ice. However, unpackaged foods and meat should not be stored in water. - Sunlight is a source of heat
If possible, keep the cool box away from direct sunlight. The ice can stay frozen in the shade for up to twice as long. Some pros even use tarps or towels to cover their coolers when they can't find a shady spot. - Limit access to the cooler
Every time the cooler is opened, the cold air inside is exchanged for warm air from outside, which then needs to be cooled, causing the ice to melt more quickly. - Dry ice is best
The YETI Tundra®, Roadie® and TANK® are suitable for dry ice. When used in conjunction with a hard YETI Cooler box can keep dry ice food and drinks cold and frozen longer than regular ice. - YETI® ICE ice packs as a supplement
Supplement regular ice cream with YETI ICE ice packs. YETI ICE ice packs have a temperature that is just below that of normal ice. This fine-tuning allows YETI ICE ice packs to carry out all cooling work before your ice melts.
YETI – Made for the wild
Coolers, drinking vessels and accessories in top quality. Ultimate design – ultimate performance.
In 2006 YETI Coolers was founded with a simple mission: to build the cooler you would use every day if it really existed. One that is made for the discerning outdoor enthusiast. One that would withstand all the challenges it faces in the wilderness and on the water. One that just wouldn't break. The founders decided early on that product innovations would come from necessity and first-hand experience - not from Markt research and data analysis. Show today YETI Produce their skills when it matters most - whether that's a trip to the remote Alaskan wilderness, redfish fishing on the Gulf Coast, or simply meeting friends in the backyard.
