What does "rotationally formed" mean?
Rotational molding (also known as rotationally molded) is a high-temperature, low-pressure plastic molding process that uses heat and biaxial rotation (i.e., rotation on two axes) to create hollow, one-piece parts. The cooler box mold is loaded with powdered polyethylene. The mold is then placed in a large oven while rotating on two axes at different speeds, preventing powder from accumulating in one spot. The polyethylene melts and adheres evenly to the mold wall. Once the polyethylene has melted, the molds are pulled from the oven to cool. And once cooled, the cooler box is removed from the mold. It's like a giant, rotating Easy Bake oven that makes cooler boxes instead of cakes.
The process offers inherent design advantages, such as consistent wall thickness and robust, virtually stress-free external corners. The rotational molding gives the cooler a one-piece construction and unparalleled durability.

10 Tips for Maximizing the Performance of ® Cool Boxes
® coolers are very robust and durable, but longevity is just one of the advantages of a ® cooler. Outstanding thermal properties make ® coolers truly special. ® coolers are among the best insulated coolers currently available (up to 5 cm or more of polyurethane insulation in the walls and lids on most sizes). This insulation, combined with a freezer-like seal and a durable one-piece construction, makes ® the industry leader when it comes to keeping ice frozen for longer. Use the following information to maximize the performance of the ® cooler.
- Pre-cool the cooler
Storing a cooler in warm places wastes a considerable amount of ice trying to cool it. Load the cooler with ice a few hours before use to pre-cool it. - Use twice as much ice as contents
It's important to use enough ice in the cooler. [Name of expert] recommends a 2:1 ratio of ice to contents. This means that one-third of the cooler should be for cold drinks and food, while the other two-thirds should be filled with ice if you plan to fill the cooler completely. The more ice you use, the longer it will stay frozen. - The ice temperatures are important
Warm ice (around 0°C) is typically wet or dripping and doesn't last long. Ice that is colder than freezing is relatively dry and lasts considerably longer. - Ice blocks compared to ice cubes
Smaller, cube-shaped ice cools a cooler and its contents faster, but ice blocks melt much more slowly. Most professionals use a mixture of both to keep the contents frozen for longer. - The air is the problem
Large volumes of air in your cooler accelerate the melting of the ice that is consumed while cooling the air. These air spaces are best filled with additional ice, towels, or crumpled newspaper if no extra weight is desired. - Do not empty the water.
Do NOT empty the cold water once the cooler is running. The water helps insulate the remaining ice. However, unpackaged food and meat should not be stored in the water. - Sunlight is a heat source
Keep the cooler away from direct sunlight if possible. The ice can stay frozen up to twice as long in the shade. Some professionals even use tarpaulins or towels to cover their coolers if they can't find a shady spot. - Limit access to the cooler
Every time the cooler is opened, the cold air inside is exchanged for warm air from outside, which then has to be cooled, leading to faster melting of the ice. - Dry ice is best.
The ®, Roadie® and TANK® are suitable for use with dry ice. When used in conjunction with a hard ® cooler, dry ice can keep food and drinks cold and frozen for longer than regular ice. - ICE Cooling Packs as an Addition
Supplement regular ice with ICE ice packs. ICE ice packs have a temperature just below that of regular ice. This fine-tuning allows ICE ice packs to do all the cooling before your ice melts.

Coolers, drinking vessels and accessories of the highest quality. Ultimate design – ultimate performance.
In 2006, Coolers was founded with a simple mission: to build the cooler you'd use every day if it actually existed. One made for the demanding outdoor enthusiast. One that would withstand any challenge it might face in the wilderness and on the water. One that simply wouldn't break. The founders decided early on that product innovation would stem from necessity and firsthand experience—not from research and data analysis. Today, Coolers products demonstrate their capabilities when it matters most—whether that's a trip to the remote wilderness or... Whether it's about redfish fishing on the Gulf Coast or simply meeting friends in the garden.
